Rain, Hail, more Rain, where's the sun???

Today coming home from Sandy, the temperature went from 53 down to 43 in just a couple minutes as the hail came down!! We were so hopeful that this week we would get more plants in the ground and out of the greenhouse. We haven't given up and will post more pictures this weekend as we plant the remaining plants. We'll keep you posted but right now all we need is some warmer temperatures.

CSA Details:

FARMING PRACTICES: We do not use any pesticides or herbicides. We use compost, compost tea, soft rock phosphate, lime and other biological additives that are consistent with sustainable farming practices. We drip irrigate and plant grass between the rows to conserve water.

DATES: June 4 through November 1

Share boxes come in two sizes: A box for a family of two costing $20 a week and a box for a family of four or more for $25 a week, paid on a monthly basis.

$50 deposit to reserve your share plus $100/80 for the first month is due at sign up. (first check $150/130) The $5o deposit will be deducted off the last month.

PICK-UP: Tuesday through Friday between the hours of 11 and 1pm. Select the day of the week that works best for you at sign up. Evening pickup by special arrangement. Home delivery in the Gresham and Sandy area for additional charge.

WHAT YOU'LL GET: In June we will start with a variety of lettuces, pea pods, spinach, kale, green onions, and other cool weather crops like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and swiss chard. In July we will expand the selection of veggies as the summer progresses to include beans, beets, carrots, summer squash, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and herbs like cilantro, basil and parsley. Late summer and fall we will add corn, several varieties of squash, pumpkins and potatoes. Each week will be different and we will include cut flowers and/or berries as they become available.
