First Boxes of the Season

Summer is finally here. The weather is warm, the plants are growing and we are excited to meet all the new customers as well as visit with our friends from last year. Each week will bring new vegetables and since I'm traveling back and forth to Eastern Oregon to care for my mom, we are able to pick up a few surprises from there-like peaches this week!

We will finally start the season!!!

Tomorrow, Monday July 5th, we will start the season with the first boxes. Several people are out of town for the 4th but we hope to contact as many Monday people as we can. Not to worry, we'll get boxes out to everyone this week. The weather is supposed to remain warm and dry for the next couple weeks so we are optimistic about the season. Happy 4th of July!!

Sun at last!!!

We are so excited to have nice weather!! The plants are loving it too. Today we finished planting potatoes, tomatoes, corn, summer squash-all nice plants waiting to get in the ground. We hope the nice weather will continue and hopefully in two weeks, we'll actually have something edible to share in the CSA boxes. We'll keep you posted

Rain, Hail, more Rain, where's the sun???

Today coming home from Sandy, the temperature went from 53 down to 43 in just a couple minutes as the hail came down!! We were so hopeful that this week we would get more plants in the ground and out of the greenhouse. We haven't given up and will post more pictures this weekend as we plant the remaining plants. We'll keep you posted but right now all we need is some warmer temperatures.

We are still taking more customers for 2010!

We do still have room for a few more people to share in the harvest. We planted over 300 tomato plants a couple weeks ago. The plants look good in spite of this cool weather. Potatoes, peas, onions, lettuce, carrots, beets and spinach are all up but just aren't progressing with the cool weather.

Time to Say Hello!!

So many changes have come to our family this year and I've been meaning to get on the blog and update everyone. The plants are in the field and some are still in the greenhouses as you can see from the photos. Everyone pray for sunshine!!! It's even cooler and wetter than last year but we are trying not to give up hope.
